Air Fryer Adventures

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love food and love to cook. That being said, with two toddlers running around the house and not getting home from work until after 4 every day, cooking dinner is not always easy. I'll admit it...I'm that mom that occasionally (mostly on Mondays) will go out and buy dinner when I just don't feel like cooking. It wasn't until recently that I found a new kitchen gadget that has completely changed the dinner game in my home.
What is this amazing gadget you ask? An air fryer! I know, I'm late to the game on this one, but I kept hearing my friends talk about how much they loved cooking in theirs, so I decided to buy one and give it a try. Not only is it a healthier way to fry foods, but you can cook ANYTHING in there! Meals, snacks, desserts, donuts...I've made them all.

When I purchased my air fryer, I didn't want to buy something too big, so I went with a small 3 quart version by NuWave. This one cooks, reheats, and even dehydrates and it was only about $70. Now that I have used it for a while, I do plan to buy a bigger version eventually because I cook so many things in it.
Typically, an air fryer will come with a recipe book, but I just go on Pinterest and search until I find what I am looking for. There are so many air fryer recipes to be found on there and just searching through them gives you ideas of things to make.
One thing I really love about making desserts is that because of the size of the fryer, I'm not making a huge dessert that is going to go to waste, but rather a perfect size treat for the family that will be gone that night. The cakes come out so moist too, which really surprised me.

If you haven't taken the plunge and gotten your own air fryer, you absolutely should. Believe me when I say you will not regret it one bit.
